Pak Govt Plans To Designate PM Imran Khan's Party PTI A 'Terrorist Group'

Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said there was "substantial evidence" against the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said the Cabinet would deliberate on designating the party a "terrorist group".

The Pakistan government is planning to designate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),the party led by former PM Imran Khan, a "terrorist group." 

Pakistan’s interior minister Rana Sanaullah in an interviewed said, the presence of substantial evidence against PTI and said the cabinet would deliberate on designating the party a ‘terrorist group’.

He further claimed that around 250 Afghan citizens were employed to provide security to Khan at his residence in Zaman Park in Lahore. 

Sanaullah also claimed the Afghan citizens were "strategically positioned", and evidence showed they could conduct targeted attacks. He said they were directed towards the Corps Commander House and Askari Tower. 

He said several members of the PTI were being arrested based on cases registered against them.
