PM Narendra Modi on Sunday, June 25, conferred with ‘Order of the Nile’ award, Egypt's highest state honour.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi conferred the PM Modi with the coveted award ahead of their bilateral meeting. 

This is the 13th such highest state honour that various countries across the world have conferred upon PM Modi in the last nine years.

Modi arrived in Egypt on Saturday for a two-day state visit during which he will hold talks with the Egyptian leadership, including President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as the two nations seek to enhance their strategic partnership. This is the first bilateral visit by an Indian PM Modi to Egypt in 26 years.
