Siddaramaiah To Take Oath As Karnataka CM On May 20; Shivakumar To Be His Deputy

Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah will be the next chief minister of Karnataka and DK Shivkumar will be his deputy.


Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were the main architects of the Congress victory in Karnataka.

Ending the days of long suspense over the next Karnataka CM, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday, May 18, chose Siddaramaiah to lead the southern state. 

Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar will reportedly be the deputy CM and the oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held in Bengaluru on May 20.  

A Congress legislative party meeting has also been convened for May 20, setting stage for the 75-year-old Kuruba leader to become the CM for the second time.
