UP Farmers Dressed Up As Bears To Protect Sugarcane Crops From Monkeys

In a bid to protect their standing crops from marauding animals, especially monkeys, farmers in some villages in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh have picked up an old trick and started dressing up as bears and roam around in their fields to scare away the invaders.

A farmer said that over 40 monkeys in the area are damaging the crops but the authorities paid no attention to the matter despite receiving the information. 

He further said that, several farmers contributed money and bought a bear costume for Rs 4,000 tp protect the crops.
