'WFI Chief Should Be Arrested': Farmer Leader Rakesh Tikait Joins Protesting Wrestlers At Jantar Mantar

Bharatiya Kisan Morcha Ugrahan leaders on Sunday, May 7, reached Jantar Mantar to extend support to wrestlers.

Farmers, under the aegis of Samyukt Kisan Morcha, announced a nationwide protest in support of these wrestlers and echoed the ace grapplers’ demand for the immediate arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP from Kaiserganj, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by women athletes, including a minor. 

SKM leaders such as Darshan Pal, and Hanan Mollah have also joined the demonstrations at Jantar Mantar. 

The farmers' leaders also announced the burning of effigies of the PM Modi-led government and Brij Bhushan. 
 
Ahead of joining the protesters at Jantar Mantar, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that the protesting wrestlers have the full support of farmers and demanded the immediate arrest of Brij Bhushan.

The wrestlers have been staging a sit-in demonstration at Jantar Mantar since April 23. They have levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Singh, who is also a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Uttar Pradesh.
