Amid ongoing speculation about a possible leadership change in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday, July 10, firmly asserted that there is no vacancy for the post and he intends to complete his full five-year term. He added that the next state election will be contested under his leadership.
“There is no vacancy for the chief minister’s post in Karnataka. I will complete my full five-year term. I have no ambition in national politics and will remain in Karnataka,” Siddaramaiah said, while also reaffirming his commitment to abide by any decision made by the Congress high command.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah had emphasized that the Congress government in Karnataka was “solid as a rock” and united. When asked by reporters if he would continue as CM for the full term, he confidently replied, “Yes, I will be. Why do you have the doubts?”
