PM Narendra Modi on Monday, May 26, addressed a public rally in Dahod, Gujarat, emphasizing that Operation Sindoor is not merely a military campaign but a reflection of the values and emotions of every Indian. He remarked that those who spread terrorism could never have imagined how formidable a challenge Modi presents.
“Jab koi hamari behno ke sindoor ko mitayega, toh uska bhi mitna tay ho jata hai… Atank phailane walon ne sapno mein bhi socha nahi hoga Modi se muqabala kitna mushkil hota hai… (When someone removes the Sindoor from our sisters’ and mothers’ foreheads, then their removal is also confirmed. Those who spread terrorism may have never even imagined in their dreams how tough a rivalry with Modi can be),” he said.
Modi recalled the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, stating that India – and he personally – could not remain silent after such an atrocity. “When someone removes the sindoor from our sisters’ and mothers’ foreheads, their removal is also certain. Operation Sindoor is not just a military action, it is an expression of the values and emotions of Indians,” he added.
The PM also highlighted the collective efforts of over 140 crore Indians working toward building a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He noted that recent decisions taken by India have been unprecedented, breaking free from decades-old constraints. “It is the demand of the time that everything required to make India a developed nation is built within the country. India is making significant strides in the manufacturing sector,” he said.
Marking the significance of the day, Modi reflected, “Today is May 26. On this date in 2014, I took oath as the Prime Minister for the first time. First, the people of Gujarat blessed me, then crores of Indians did.”
During the rally, PM Modi also recalled the inauguration of Dahod’s electric locomotive factory. “I was here three years ago for the stone-laying ceremony. Many said it was an election stunt and nothing would be built. Today, the first electric locomotive has been manufactured here and was recently flagged off,” he said, showcasing the progress made in the region.
