PM Narendra Modi convened a high-level security meeting at his residence in New Delhi, bringing together Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and the heads of the Indian Armed Forces to assess the evolving security situation.
The meeting followed India’s precision strikes on four Pakistani airbases in the early hours of Saturday, launched in direct response to Pakistan’s coordinated attacks on 26 Indian strategic locations the previous night.
Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sophia Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh jointly briefed the media on the latest developments amid the intensifying standoff. Misri described Pakistan’s recent military actions as “escalatory” and “provocative,” underscoring the seriousness with which India views the current aggression.
During the briefing, Indian officials presented concrete evidence of Pakistan’s hostile maneuvers and debunked false claims being circulated by Islamabad. These included fabricated reports of the destruction of key Indian military installations, including the S-400 missile system and major airbases. India firmly rejected what it called a “malicious misinformation campaign,” and released verifiable imagery to disprove the allegations.
The Indian government reiterated its stance of measured and responsible retaliation, affirming its commitment to safeguarding national security while countering disinformation with facts.
