The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is preparing a new classroom module aimed at educating students about India’s strategic and diplomatic response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. According to a report by news agency PTI, the module will highlight the country’s coordinated military and policy actions following the deadly incident.
The educational content will be divided into two segments: one tailored for students in Classes 3 to 8, and another for those in Classes 9 to 12. Spanning approximately 8 to 10 pages, the module is intended to help students understand how a nation responds to terror threats—through military retaliation, diplomatic engagement, and inter-ministerial coordination.
On April 22, one of the most devastating terror attacks in recent years occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed in cold blood in front of their families. The brutal assault triggered a swift and forceful military response from India.
In the days that followed, India launched Operation Sindoor, a counter-terror campaign targeting militant infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and deep within Pakistani territory. The operation led to a four-day military standoff, marking a significant escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
