Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday, October 2, emphasized that the stance of nations following the Pahalgam terror attack revealed the nature and extent of their friendship with India. Speaking at the RSS’s annual Vijaya Dashami rally, which also marked the organisation’s centenary, Bhagwat stressed that while India maintains friendly relations with other countries, national security demands greater vigilance and strength.
Referring to the attack, Bhagwat highlighted Operation Sindoor, noting that terrorists had crossed the border and killed 26 Indians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, after checking their religion. “This caused immense pain and anger in the country. Our government made complete preparations and gave a firm rebuttal. In the aftermath, the leadership’s resolve, the valour of our armed forces, and the unity of society were evident,” he said.
The RSS chief also indicated that extremist elements had been dealt with by the government and society had distanced itself from them upon recognizing their “hollowness.” While his remarks appeared to be directed at nations like China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, which were perceived as supporting Islamabad post-Operation Sindoor, Bhagwat asserted that a major hurdle in the region had now been removed and that such threats would be controlled.
