Pakistan middle-order batter Asif Ali has retired from all formats of international cricket at 33

Pakistan middle-order batter Asif Ali has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 33.

Asif represented Pakistan in 21 ODIs and 58 T20Is since making his debut in 2018, gaining recognition as a hard-hitting finisher. One of his most memorable performances came during the 2021 T20 World Cup, when he smashed four sixes in an over against Afghanistan to secure a crucial victory for Pakistan.

In a farewell message, Asif said wearing the national jersey was the “greatest honour” of his life and confirmed he would continue playing domestic and franchise cricket.

His retirement marks another step in Pakistan’s ongoing team transition as younger players prepare to take center stage.
