A bus carrying 18 passengers fell into the Alaknanda River near Gholtir in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district

A bus carrying 18-19 passengers plunged into the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag on Thursday, June 26, prompting rescue efforts.

One passenger died, while seven others were injured and sent to the hospital.

As of now, 11 passengers are missing, according to officials. Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman said that the accident-hit vehicle is likely to be a tempo traveler.

Police and the State Disaster Response Force reached the spot and are conducting rescue operations.
