Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, August 25, asserted that India will overcome external economic pressures, a day before the United States is set to impose a 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods.
Addressing a gathering in Ahmedabad, Modi said, “No matter how much pressure comes, we will find a way out.” He stressed that the government remains committed to protecting the interests of small entrepreneurs, farmers, cattle rearers, and shopkeepers.
The Prime Minister underlined that in a global environment where nations pursue their own economic priorities, India would continue to safeguard its own interests and ensure that local communities are not left behind.
The US tariff hike, scheduled to take effect on August 26, poses a significant challenge to Indian exports, particularly in sectors reliant on the American market.
