Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, 51, was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Friday evening, September 5, after his health deteriorated over the past two days.
Mann had been experiencing viral fever and digestive problems, which worsened despite initial home treatment. Upon admission, he reported exhaustion and a low heart rate. Doctors have assessed his condition, and his vitals are now stable. He remains under observation, with medical staff continuing to monitor his progress.
Earlier in the day, Mann postponed a scheduled Cabinet meeting due to his illness. The meeting was intended to discuss ongoing flood relief efforts in Punjab, which has recently experienced severe flooding causing 43 deaths and significant agricultural damage.
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal visited Mann at his official residence on September 4 to check on his health before touring the flood-affected areas in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala district.
As of now, Mann’s condition is stable, and further updates from the hospital are awaited.
