Former India captain Rahul Dravid has stepped down as head coach of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the franchise confirmed on Friday.
Dravid’s exit follows a disappointing 2025 season where the Royals finished ninth with just four wins from 14 matches. The team recently underwent a “structural review” and had offered him a broader strategic role, which he declined.
The Royals praised Dravid’s long association with the franchise, saying his leadership had shaped the squad’s values and culture. Dravid first joined the Royals in 2011, captained them till 2013, and returned as head coach for the 2025 season.
The franchise is now set to begin its search for a new head coach ahead of IPL 2026.
