Ravichandran Ashwin has reportedly informed CSK about his decision to part ways with the five-time champions

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has reportedly informed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) of his decision to part ways with the franchise after a disappointing IPL 2025 campaign.

Bought for Rs 9.75 crore in the mega auction, Ashwin managed just seven wickets in nine matches as CSK finished at the bottom of the points table for the first time in their history.

The 38-year-old is also expected to step down as Director of Operations at the CSK Academy, a role he has held for the past year, to avoid any conflict of interest if he joins another franchise.

CSK’s leadership group, including MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad, met in Chennai on August 7 to discuss plans for the upcoming season.
