Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has deactivated his Instagram account, sparking intense speculation about a possible trade between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
Jadeja’s account, previously active under the handle @royalnavghan, disappeared on Monday morning, November 11, just as reports surfaced of discussions involving a potential player swap between the two franchises. According to reports, CSK could trade Jadeja in exchange for RR skipper Sanju Samson, though neither team has issued an official statement.
The 36-year-old all-rounder has been one of CSK’s key performers, contributing to their IPL title wins in 2018, 2021, and 2023. He also briefly captained the side in 2022 before MS Dhoni returned to lead the team.
A senior CSK official reportedly confirmed that talks are underway but said no decision has been finalised. “The management is evaluating all options to strengthen the squad,” the official was quoted as saying.
Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif weighed in on the rumours, suggesting that Dhoni would make a pragmatic decision. “If Dhoni feels a trade benefits the team, he will not hesitate to do it,” Kaif said.
Jadeja began his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals in 2008, when the franchise won the inaugural season under Shane Warne’s captaincy.
While Jadeja’s social media silence has fueled online chatter, it remains unclear whether the move signals a rift with CSK or is unrelated to ongoing trade talks.
