Days after India and Pakistan agreed to put a pause to their cross-border military actions, Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif said he is ready for peace talks

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif said he was ready to engage in peace talks with India, days after the casefire between two nations amid Operation Sindoor.

The latest remarks by the Pakistani PM comes as Islamabad said that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan has now been extended until May 18. Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishaq Dar said that the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India talked over a hotline to discuss the ceasefire and it has been extended to May 18.

India carried out precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on terror infrastructure early on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
