Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his house in Mumbai’s Bandra, police said on Thursday, January 16.
Khan’s surgery is completed and is out of danger, his team said. “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident,” an official statement from his team said.
Khan got stabbed multiple times. He had six injuries out of which two cuts were deep and one was close to the spine. He was then brought to Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 am.
“Saif has six stabs and two are deep. Of this one is close to spine. He is being operated upon by a team of doctors led neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain and anaesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi,” Dr Uttamani said.
The wrist wound is also deep. It’s on the left hand and requires a plastic surgeon to repair it, he added.
The incident reportedly took place at 2:30 am on Thursday, January 16, at his apartment in Satguru Sharan building in Bandra.
The police bought its sniffer dog as investigation is underway into the attack.
The police are waiting for Khan’s condition to improve to record his statement. The police have recorded the initial statements of his family members.
The police are investigating the matter. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is at the actor’s residence to investigate the incident.
