Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from Sydney hospital after sustaining a spleen injury during third ODI against Australia.

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from a hospital in Sydney after receiving treatment for a spleen injury sustained during the third ODI against Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that his condition is now stable and he is recovering under medical supervision.

Iyer suffered the injury while attempting a catch on the field, taking a heavy blow to his left lower rib area. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where scans revealed a laceration to his spleen along with internal bleeding. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for close observation.

According to the latest medical update, internal bleeding has been controlled, and Iyer has responded well to treatment. With his condition stabilised, doctors have discharged him from the hospital, although he will continue to remain in Sydney for further rest and monitoring.

The BCCI stated that there is no immediate timeline for his return to cricket. His participation in the upcoming matches on the Australia tour remains uncertain and will depend on his recovery progress and medical clearance.

The Indian team management expressed relief at the improvement in Iyer’s health and extended full support to him during his rehabilitation.
