Bollywood singer and music composer Sachin Sanghvi, known for his hit tracks in Stree 2 and Bhediya, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after promising her a role in his music album and marriage, police said on Friday, October 24. Sanghvi, one half of the popular composer duo Sachin–Jigar, was taken into custody on Thursday under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following an investigation into the woman’s complaint.
According to officials, the complainant, a woman in her twenties, came into contact with Sanghvi in February 2024 after he sent her a message on Instagram. The two began communicating over the phone, and Sanghvi allegedly invited her to his studio, where he proposed marriage and later sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.
Police said the woman subsequently lodged a complaint, leading to Sanghvi’s arrest. Authorities have recorded the victim’s statement and are verifying evidence related to the allegations. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
