Janshakti Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav

Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) founder and former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav announced on Saturday, October 11, that his party will release its list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections on October 13. He described the upcoming announcement as significant, saying, “Parso jordaar ailaan hoga” (Day after tomorrow, big announcements will be made). The event is expected to be a key moment for the newly formed party.

Yadav confirmed that he will contest from the Mahua assembly constituency, which he had won in the 2015 elections as an RJD candidate. Currently, Mahua is represented by RJD leader Mukesh Kumar Raushan, setting the stage for a high-profile contest given Yadav’s family legacy and influence in Bihar politics.

On the topic of alliances, Tej Pratap Yadav hinted at ongoing discussions, remarking, “Everyone is coming to meet me.” While JJD is not currently part of any major alliance, the statement indicates that Yadav is keeping the option open for political negotiations ahead of the elections.
