The suspect, Mohammed Nizamuddin, is a resident of Mahbubnagar district in Telangana.

A 29-year-old man from Telangana’s Mahabubnagar district was shot dead by police in the United States following a reported altercation with his roommate, according to his family. Mohammed Nizamuddin, a software professional based in California, was allegedly killed by Santa Clara Police on September 3, though the precise circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

Nizamuddin’s father, Mohammed Hasnuddin, told PTI that he learned of his son’s death only through a friend. According to him, the reported clash with the roommate arose from a minor dispute, and he expressed shock over the fatal outcome.

In a letter to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Hasnuddin sought assistance in repatriating his son’s body to Mahabubnagar. “I do not know the actual reasons why police shot him dead,” he wrote, requesting urgent support from Indian officials in Washington and San Francisco to facilitate the process.
