Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha gave necessary instructions to the police to take immediate and appropriate action on the matter.

A 19-year-old student from Tripura, Sneha Debnath, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Delhi, sparking concern and prompting Tripura CM Manik Saha to direct law enforcement to take swift and decisive action.

Sneha, a resident of Sabroom in South Tripura district, was pursuing her studies at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, affiliated with Delhi University. According to her family, she last communicated with her mother on July 7, informing her that she was heading to Sarai Rohilla Railway Station to meet a friend named Pitunia. Her final phone call was logged at 5:56 a.m., but by 8:45 a.m., her phone had been switched off.

In a troubling twist, Pitunia later told the family that the planned meeting never happened. Further investigation led the family to track down a cab driver who confirmed that he had dropped Sneha near Delhi’s Signature Bridge – an area noted for safety concerns and sparse CCTV surveillance. The lack of camera footage in the vicinity has significantly hindered efforts to trace her movements.

“The report of Miss Sneha Debnath, a resident of Sabroom, who has reportedly gone missing in New Delhi, has come to the notice of the Chief Minister’s Office. Following this, necessary instructions have been promptly issued to the police to take immediate and appropriate action,” the Tripura CM’s Office acknowledged the case in a statement on social media.

On July 9, the Delhi Police Crime Branch, along with the NDRF, launched a comprehensive search operation covering a seven-kilometre radius around the Signature Bridge. Despite the scale of the search, authorities have yet to uncover any concrete leads.
