US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the United States will begin testing nuclear weapons in response to similar actions by Russia and China. In his post, Trump claimed that during his first term in office, the US achieved the world’s largest and most advanced nuclear arsenal, including a full update and renovation of existing weapons. He stated that, despite his reluctance due to the “tremendous destructive power” of such weapons, he now feels compelled to act given recent nuclear activities by rival nations.

Trump wrote, “The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of existing weapons, during my First Term in office. Because of the tremendous destructive power, I HATED to do it, but had no choice! Russia is second, and China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years. Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”

The post has generated intense reactions both domestically and internationally. Supporters view it as a necessary step to maintain America’s strength and deterrence capability, while critics warn it could reignite a global arms race and destabilize decades of nuclear nonproliferation efforts. As tensions rise, world leaders are urging restraint and renewed diplomatic dialogue to prevent further escalation.
