A fight erupted between members of the groom’s and bride’s sides over the serving of chicken fries.

A nikah ceremony held at Falak Marriage Hall in the Mazheda Tibridi area of Nagina, Bijnor, descended into chaos when a dispute over serving chicken fry triggered a violent outbreak, leaving at least 15 guests injured.

The commotion began during the groom’s party’s arrival from Kotra village, when a disagreement over food portions with the bride’s side escalated into multiple rounds of fist-fights within the baraat. Women and children were reportedly caught in the melee and a heart-patient guest sustained serious injuries in the stampede-like scene.

Local police intervened to restore order and oversaw the completion of the marriage rituals under supervision. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause and extent of injuries.

The incident underscores how tensions over catering arrangements during large family gatherings can quickly spiral into violence, especially when food shortages or perceived inequities become involved.
