The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) recently hosted its Deeksharambh 2025 orientation programme, designed to welcome and integrate new students into the university community.
The dynamic orientation session titled ‘Career Opportunities and Upskilling Needs’ was held at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya’s Central Auditorium, providing freshers with valuable insights into career opportunities and upskilling needs, as mentioned in the press release.
Dr Aggarwal, a highly accomplished scientist in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS applications, Director of NESAC, Shillong, delivered the keynote speech, offering guidance on course selection, career choices and emerging opportunities, while emphasizing the importance of early career planning to bridge the gap between education and employment, as stated in the press release.
A lively Q&A session followed this. Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma concluded the session with an optimistic note, encouraging students to make informed decisions about their academic pursuits.
