Assamese music and film icon Zubeen Garg’s final film, Roi Roi Binale, is creating history ahead of its release, with record-breaking early morning screenings across Assam. The film will officially hit theatres on October 31, but fans’ overwhelming response has led to special shows starting as early as 4:25 a.m.
According to theatre owners, halls in Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, and Tezpur are among the first to begin pre-dawn screenings, while other towns have added additional early shows to meet soaring demand. The film is set for release in over 80 theatres in Assam and 40 venues across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
A Historic Farewell
Roi Roi Binale marks Zubeen Garg’s final cinematic appearance as an actor, musician, writer, and composer. The film, conceptualised in 2007, was nearly complete before Zubeen’s untimely demise on September 19, 2025.
Fans and industry insiders view the movie as both a tribute and a celebration of the late superstar’s immense contribution to Assamese culture. Early ticket sales have reportedly crossed ₹50 lakh in advance bookings, an unprecedented figure for Assamese cinema.
Technical Milestone and Fan Tributes
The film is also the first Assamese production to feature Dolby Atmos sound technology, a milestone for the regional film industry. Across the state, fans are planning special tributes and community screenings to honour Zubeen Garg’s memory.
As Roi Roi Binale opens to packed theatres before sunrise, it represents not just a cinematic event, but an emotional farewell to one of Assam’s most beloved cultural icons.
