Bengaluru police have arrested a man who allegedly murdered his wife, stuffed her body into a suitcase, and fled to Pune

In a shocking incident, a man killed his wife, stuffed her body in a suitcase and informed her parents about the act on a call in Bengaluru. The man was arrested by the Bengaluru Police from Pune later.

According to reports, accused Rakesh was a techie in an IT firm and was married to 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambekar. The couple belonged to Maharashtra and had been living in Doddakannahalli under Hulimavu police station limits for the past two months.

Reports suggest that the couple had frequent arguments during which Gauri often assaulted the accused. On March 26, the argument escalated and in the heat of the moment, Rakesh stabbed the victim in the stomach and slit her throat.

He then stuffed the body in a suitcase and left in in the bathroom. According to the police, the accused himself informed his in-laws that he had killed their daughter. After this, they informed the police.

Police said that the entire body was folded and stuffed in a trolley bag. Officials have sent the body for post-mortem to find out the cause of death.

Bengaluru Police alerted Pune Police who arrested Rakesh. Meanwhile, a team from Hulimavu police station travelled to Pune to bring the accused back to Bengaluru for further investigation.
